While this isn't a post with step by step instructions, I wanted to share what I did and share where I found the inspiration for the projects.
I made basically DIY my flowers, dress, and invitations. My wedding cost around $5,000. I got a local photographer who was expanding into wedding photography, a caterer who did smaller events (that was almost half my budget).
My wedding was held at the Old St. Mary's Chapel in Rocklin, CA and the reception was at the Rocklin Event Center in their garden room. We had access to the bride's ready room and the grooms room which includes a billiards table.
For my inspiration and ideas, I used Pinterest and shared a folder with my Matron of Honor...whose dress was fabulously designed by herself. My invitations were a tri-fold invitation with a lace wrap and a wax seal (I added the link to the youtube video that shows how to do the invitation). I watched the video a few times so I could get the basics down. Once that is done, then get the supplies and start crafting!. For the wax seal, make sure to put a small piece of paper under so it doesn't stick to the invitation paper. It makes it harder to open.
In the pocket, I put the instructions for the reception and the RSVP card...yes, I designed my own using Microsoft Word and printing on parchment paper. I think I spent about $50 but I was able to make about 60 invitations. This includes the ribbon, wax, and supplies.
I then made my own vases and add added flowers...this was a bit more costly. I used Ling Moment's flowers and got my vases and other supplies off of facebook market (I also got linen and other display items that way). For the vases, I got different colored lace that I wrapped around and used a hot glue to hold in place. I then added a charm/broach to the front. Then added the glass marbles and gems inside. I put the flowers in first and then the greenery and embellishments. I found the diamond pins that I put in the center of the flower on Amazon.com.
For my bouquet, I found a silver handle and then hot glued a bigger globe on it.
Then I added the flowers. To create the cascading effect, just make the stems longer at the bottom. It is best to start at the bottom and work your way to the top.
Of course for a steampunk wedding, can't forget the gears! I also made a "cake topper" inspired from my husband's and mine past time hobby of billiards. I took apart our first place loser trophies (2nd place) and hot glued the figures and the balls onto a foam piece. Then I hot glued the flowers and greenery. I used a bronze paint to go over the figures too. People got a kick out of this piece.
I hope this helped inspire you with your wedding. Please share your crafts and ideas below. Happy crafting!
